Helping the unhoused carry on

Mission: Create basic personal care packs for the unhoused and keep them in stock with local outreach organizations.

At Cascade Forward, Onward is one of the simplest things we do, and honestly one of the most important.

It’s a steady effort to get basic hygiene and care supplies into the hands of unhoused folks around town. Socks, toothbrushes, wipes, bandages. The kind of stuff most of us grab without thinking, but that becomes a real problem when you don’t have it.

Onward is an ongoing project. As long as there's money in the fund, we will keep putting them together. We collect supplies from the community and pass them along through people and groups already out there doing the work, so these items move regularly instead of showing up in a big burst and then disappearing.

Sometimes “help” doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just making sure someone has what they need to get through the day. To give some of those basic necessities that make us feel human. It is not uplift. That comes later, hopefully, when we grow enough to put real resources into our outreach efforts. For now, we hope to just keep them going.
