Our Mission.
Cascade Forward builds creative, compassionate, independent communities that reduce suffering, increase joy, and empower people through mutual aid, creativity, and nonviolent civic action.
Cascade Forward is an organized community of creative, philanthropic, and political people in the Pacific Northwest (and specifically, to start, the SW Washington area). We were born out of a protest movement - now we are what happens when the angry look past simply protesting and start taking the welfare of their community into their own hands.
The VISION
A society where communities care for one another, creativity thrives, and ordinary people have the power and independence to live with dignity and joy.
Our VALUES
Joy and human wellbeing matter more than wealth.
Creativity is essential to human freedom, and freedom is essential to happiness.
Communities are stronger when people support each other.
Independence comes from skills, cooperation, and local resilience.
Justice requires standing up to power when it harms people.
Political action should be ethical, nonviolent, and people-focused.
We DO
We lead the way through community education and cooperation programs designed to build more independent, culturally driven communities.
We FIGHT
We meet authority, elected or otherwise, with resistance when greedy or corrupt motives run counter to the goals of peace, justice, inclusion, health and happiness of regular people.
We LIFT
Our projects help raise up the less fortunate and spread happiness and culture through our communities.
